Ode

The spheres of you
are other worlds
between which I would
wander, blissfully.

Eyes, twin suns of
brightness undefined,
that nurture leaves
of me, though few.

Breasts of honeyed dew
that rest, compressing
feeble blades of grass
within my soul.

And the full womb,
greatest sphere of all,
where my branches stroke
that part of me in you.

Lyric

Death apart is dark, it seems,
and life apart is dark, we know.
What would we
For your completeness
is deeper than my incomplete.

in memory

fair maiden,know that i,(perhaps too),weep for fear
of my love's fickleness,of you, for whom
I built so much (in me,most of all).

I would I shed no tear, for it is good
to speak, and hear as this, but in
unbroken silence(most all) broken, i am weak.

thankfully,(how is it so that i am?),
you remain the greater,as you were in
us,(and greater still, perhaps, in you)

lady, I do not know what is to come, but
stay your hand and eye, that I might dream alone
a dream of dreams,of who you thought I was.

it may not always be so;and i say
that if your lips, which i have loved, should touch
another's,and your dear strong fingers clutch
his heart,as mine in time not far away;
if on another's face your sweet hair lay
in such a silence as i know,or such
great writhing words as,uttering overmuch,
stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;

if this should be,i say if this should be-
you of my heart,send me a little word;
that i may go unto him,and take his hands,
saying,Accept all happiness from me.
Then shall i turn my face, and hear one bird
sing terribly afar in the lost lands.

Spiritual Matter

My soul, an atom,
densest at its core.

My flitting, inconsistent love-electrons,
are not free to share.

Make me cationic, Lord,
or better yet, split me
that I might enflame myself
within your spirit.

Duet

I have seen the rain,
and felt its love(for all) in
me. and I, (in tendered modes)
despite a (justly rendered)
certain (element of reality)
stone (like a sea of glass)
heart, (in which I
have (now
loved
as the rain does).

American

"In addition to my other numerous acquaintances, I have one more intimate confidant. My depression is the most faithful mistress I have known -- no wonder, then, that I return the love."
-Soren Kierkegaard
